As a Gardener at the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority, you will be responsible for maintaining the beautiful and serene grounds of our cemeteries and memorial parks. This full-time role is based in Clearview, SA 5085 and offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to the care and upkeep of these important community spaces.

What you’ll be doing

• Performing general gardening duties such as mowing, trimming, weeding, edging and fertilising the lawns and gardens
• Pruning and maintaining trees, shrubs and other plants to ensure they remain healthy and aesthetically pleasing
• Assisting with the installation and maintenance of irrigation systems
• Collecting and disposing of garden waste in an environmentally responsible manner
• Identifying and addressing any pest or disease issues with plants
• Providing excellent customer service to visitors and bereaved families
• Adhering to all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

What we’re looking for

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a gardener or horticulturist, preferably in a cemetery or memorial park setting
• Strong knowledge of gardening techniques, plant care and landscaping
• Ability to operate and maintain various gardening equipment and tools including electric hand tools with battery back packs, electric and autonomous mowers
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards
• Good customer service skills and the ability to interact sensitively with the community
• A valid driver’s licence.
