Australia Day

The Adelaide Cemeteries Authority celebrates Australia Day, January 26 at the West Terrace Cemetery. It is the biggest day of celebration in the country and is observed as a public holiday in all states and territories.

We celebrate this significant day with a service to recognise Carl Linger who is buried in the historic West Terrace Cemetery. Carl is known for composing the music for the "Song of Australia" with the words written by Caroline Carleton.

The Carl Linger Memorial Australia Day Commemoration Service has been an ongoing community event for more than 30 years. This event attracts over 200 people, including members of Parliament and other civic leaders.

The ceremony commences at 9am and at the conclusion of the service, refreshments are served.

Mother's Day

Mother’s Day, on the second Sunday in the month of May, is one of the largest family days of celebration around the nation, and at Emfield Memorial Park it is one of the most significant days of the year..

To assist families who come together at the cemetery to reflect and remember, we conduct a Service of Remembrance at the main entry gates off Browning Street, Clearview. The ceremony commences at 11:30am and at the conclusion of the service, refreshments are served.

Light refreshments are also provided throughout the day, a shuttle bus service is available to transport visitors around the cemetery grounds, and beautiful music adds to a tranquil atmosphere.

Mother’s Day at Enfield Memorial Park has been an ongoing community event for many years, attracting more than 5,000 people on the day.
