Saying goodbye when your loved one's cremated remains are placed into their memorial position can be helpful to your emotional and grieving needs.
A committal service to lay your loved one to rest is a chance to say your goodbyes and another step in accepting the finality of the death of someone so close.
For family and friends who were unable to attend the funeral service, the committal service also offers an opportunity to pay their last respects.
The committal service
Everyone's needs are different and so too are committal services.
For some, just being there and placing flowers is enough.
You may wish to place the urn of cremated remains into the memorial site, sprinkle the first soil and say a prayer or you may prefer to have a formal service conducted by your minister, funeral director or by the Adelaide Cemeteries Authority's celebrant.
And of course, you are welcome to place floral tributes around your loved one's memorial after the service.
Most of all, whatever your needs may be, we are here to help coordinate your wishes to ensure your loved one is laid to rest in a respectful manner.
The length of time for the committal service can vary depending on your instructions, but importantly it will take as long as you need.
